MLK GREATEST QUOTES (my reaction from quotes)

*“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”

This quote states that a man is not a true man in an easy predicament but proves his manhood when a difficult obstacle is approached. Martin Luther King isn't famous for reacting for no reason. He shows his true power when the toughest presents of injustice comes along. Anybody can act like "the man" or "a man" when things are easy and going as planned but how do you approach or handle a hard situation?

*“In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.”

Many people believe their enemies actions are more important than their "friends" lack of reaction. The quote is explaining that at the end of the day and conclusion of the obstacle it is not what your enemies called you or did to you, it matters how much your friends helped you through it. Martin Luther King stood for whats right even been hit and spat on. While the majority of his "friends" referring to other black people mainly did nothing and stood in silence. Does the ignorance of your enemies mean more then your friends lack of support throughout it all?

*“Whatever your life's work is, do it well. A man should do his job so well that the living, the dead, and the unborn could do it no better.”

Throughout history, a number of people did things that can never be surpassed or compared. Martin Luther King being a man who will be remembered forever says that if we have a task or job to do we should do it to our greatest abilities so no one can ever do it better. I guess it is okay to measure up to the first persons accomplishment but people should always want to work so hard in order to be the best. Micheal Jordan will never be outdone. Although many can be compared to him no one can be better, and many others. Do you want to do just a good job or strive for a chance for someone to say at one point in time that no one can do it better than you did?
